Well on Thursday 24th Jan I began weaning lewis. He was 18weeks+2 days. Ok so the health visitors now say wait till they are 6 months now but I think he is ready and I'm really happy with how well he's doing.
So last week we started with just breakfast - the first 2 days he just had abit of baby rice then on Saturday and Sunday he had creamy baby porridge - he loves that one. Yesterday I pureed broccoli, carrot, parsnip, apple, pear and banana and froze them in ice cube trays. So yesterday he had creamy porridge for breakfast then for tea he had pureed carrot - he liked that and afterwards u tried him with pureed banana but he just spat that out so he had some yoghurt instead.
On the menu tonight is pureed broccoli followed by pureed pear-let's see what he thinks of that. He's had porridge for breakfast today.

Tuesday 29th january 2013
Well even though my plan was to blog everyday its easier said than done. Busy all day with baby then at night when he's in bed I'm shattered myself. Will try to blog as often as I can.
Well I started weaning my son last week - ill do another more thorough post about this later on today if I can. I think he's doing great.
What have we been up to? Well it was my 23rd birthday at the weekend - my first birthday as a mummy. I had a lovely card and present off my son :).
This morning me and my little boy have been to playgroup at the local church - I am planning on motivating myself to go every week from now on. I hope I stick to it.

Naming a baby
Some parents have names for their children even before they are conceived. Others name there child as soon as they find out the sex. We did not have a clue what we were going to call our son until we first met him and it's true a name can just come to you there and then.
We found out our baby was a boy at our only scan - the 20 week scan. If it had been a girl we both liked the name sienna-grace. I felt abit pressurised to name him because my sister in law was about a month further along in her pregnancy and they had named there son at there 20 week scan. Every time we visited my partners family all I ever heard was 'have we named this baby yet' up to the point where one day I said I don't agree with naming a child before its born I will not name my child until the birth.
Naming a boy is so difficult. I was constantly online looking for ideas and I read 3 different baby names books.
My shortlist of names was : Luka, noah, kai, finley, Dylan
My partner wasn't much for any of them. With him being quarter Italian he liked the idea of an Italian name his suggestions were : Rocco or Paolo
My partner kind of liked the name Luka so I thought that would be the name.
When our son was born i had mentioned the name lewis before a few days ago I said to.my.partner.after I'd come round from the c section what we naming him then? He said either Luka or lewis and he thought lewis. I agreed the name suited our son so he became lewis

Tuesday 22nd january - my son is 18 weeks old today
Lewis slept from 930pm last night until 720am :) he is 18 weeks old today
No more snow today but it's so icy. I walked to the shop with lewis in the pushchair and what a struggle - I wonder what kinds of pushchairs they use in lapland haha
Lewis has been full of smiles and giggles today. I love the fact if I smile at him he smiles back :)
I'm thinking of maybe trying him with some baby porridge at the weekend as I feel he's ready to start weaning slowly.

Lewis' 2nd night in his cotbed he went bed at 930pm woke at half 3 for milk then slept till 840. 840 is like a lie in to me :) haha
Well it's been snowing again all night-the local schools are closed again. All the trees and everything look pretty and picturesque but it's horrid to drive in especially with a baby in the car :(

My son's first night in his cotbed

After Friday nights horrid sleep which consisted of cat naps we went out and bought lewis a cotbed yesterday. Guess what? It may have worked.last night he slept 10 pm - 7 am. Instead of waking up crying he also woke up chatterboxing :)
Really hoping it wasn't a one off and he sleeps well tonight I'll keep you posted

Day one of blogging - my son is 4 months old today
My first blog ever
I've decided to create a blog so I can look back at my journey as a new mum. First let's start with abit about me : I'm sam and i am 22 I became a first time mum on 18th september 2012 to my gorgeous son lewis. He is 4 months old today. More about birth etc later on.
Not sure what else to put as this is my first time so ill keep it short and sweet.
